Hijabifying a look for less

I really like the look below so I decided to re-create it to make it slightly more hijab (and day) appropriate.

I know this is unrelated to your blog, but I have a question. Muslims often speak of "making duua"(forgive me if I spelled that wrong) for another person, and I was wondering what it means to "make duua" for someone?

God bless you =)

StylishMuslimah said...

Maja: Dua is just an Arabic word for "prayer" or "supplication". We believe it's better to make prayers for others ahead of ourselves and it's common to ask other Muslims to pray for you. I hope this helps!

Salam :) x

Oh okay =) So it's just like when Christians (I'm a christian) ask their friends to pray for them =)

Thank you!

are you alllowed to wear this as a muslim? like is it okay to wear sparkly stuff because i thought your supposed to not wear attractive stuff and not show adornments (anything that decorates oneself). Source: surah 24: 31?
im just curious btw, not judging! because it is a cute outfit and wondering if permissable?

StylishMuslimah said...

Anon: I don't see anything wrong with a sparkly top, especially in a western country. The point of hijab is about not showing your figure in a way that is attractive, you can still look good as long as the clothes aren't tight or see-through etc.
