I was flicking through my SM photo file when I noticed that I have an awful lot of abaya photos that I've never used. I'm going to stick them into a single post because I'm too impatient to wait for a more appropriate time to use them.
I'm getting some seriously mixed up messages with some of these styles...
Fake blue fur sleeves eweweweewwwwww
Love this next abaya ^-^ Shame about the foot..
The next one just makes me LOL.. don't ask why..
Last is always the best :D

LOL yeah totally confusing, is abaya meant to be a one piece covering, or a fashion statment that does not intend tover at all.
I love some of the abayas from the middle east, i own a few myself which have some pretty detail. But if it did not cover what its meant to or was not modest and conformed with Hijab i would keep them for female gatherings only and not dare wear them out in the streets, Whats the point? if your going to wear a thick black garment that is going to make you hot, you better intend to do it for Allah and wear it how he wants you to. Otherwise you are getting all hot and bothered for no GOOD reason.
Salaam.
So, the whole black piece is known as the abaya, but the part that covers your mouth and nose is known as the niqab?
I've alwiz loved abayas. The fabrics, especially from UAE are so cooling. Very friendly to forever sunny Malaysia.
Anon: Yes that's pretty much it!
Salam :)
I really like all the photos of abayas. Particularly, the third picture from top, the one on the beach with ladies in sunglasses and hijab. I was wondering where I could purchase cold colored abayas?
Salaam alaikum :)
Do you know what abaya pcture 6 is called? It has a special name, i think. I wanted to buy one with sleeves like that.
The pictures are pretty but some of these abayas are really impractical to wear outside!
I love abaya too
...**Opens mouth...closes**
Are these supposed to be covering?
Zahra: I think it is called a "bisht" or "butterfly" style abaya.
Salam x
The top 3 from yebab.com seem quite inappropriate -- you would have to use the words "abaya" and "visible cleavage" to describe them -- not good!
