Budget Western Fashion Meets Egyptian Hijab: Love It or Shove It?

(Before I start this post, I just want to say that some readers seem to be unaware of the fact that I write this blog with my own opinions of fashion. I'm not a politician so don't need to be politically correct and if I state my opinion of an outfit I don't particularly like, it's not haram. I apologise if you are offended but I genuinely do not intend to personally upset anybody.)
.
Anyway, I thought I'd ask your opinions of these outfits. They look kind of like an Egyptian designer went crazy in Primark. I like certain bits of some of them, but on the whole I'm not hot on them, especially not all the belting.

What do you reckon? Would you actually wear any of these? :S

*shudder* No...I can't imagine wearing any of them...maybe...MAYBE the purple one, but I'd have to change so much of it that it would no longer be the same look.

Sucks that people whine about you having (and stating) an opinion. I'm all about opinions...they're what start wonderful debates and deep, worthy conversations.

Asalaamu Alaikum

I'd wear the second but with the hijab covering the chest.

I might wear the first and parts of the third. I feel there are too many pieces together. I know as a Muslimah you have to layer...but there's a way to do it that doesn't include 15 pieces in each outfit!

i actually quite like them - which is funny bcos i usually dont go much for gypo fashion myself. i love the 2nd last one.

that last one though i dont like. are those skirts? weird pants? i dont know...

Of these outfits, there are ones that I think are really lovely but wouldn't wear and there are ones that I would wear.

I love outfits #1, #3, #4 and #5. However, I would only wear #3 and #4 (and that's only with changing the colours in #3 to comething a bit more toned down. Some grey and black, maybe. I love purple but I wouldn't wear it that way.)

I think #1 is really gorgeous but I just can't get around the way the bust seems sort of emphasised. Also, I would wear a different hiujaab with all of them (just because I don't like egyptian hijaab in general) though I'd be tempted to try the look in #4.

#5 looks fashionable but it's not something people could wear successfully and not look like a bit of a weirdo.

the first one i dont mind but i think it would make me look pregnant. if everything was toned down and less poofy it would probably look great :D

Not my style. But I think you can wear a belt even when you're wearing a hijab. Just put a cardigan over it. That way you can see the belt but people can't see your lady shape ;-)

I really don't like Egyptian scarf style, and I hate their use of tight tops, but I find lots of parts of these looks are pretty nice!

I dislike the outfits - But what realllllllyyy gets on my nerves is the posing. If they are to represent hijab fashion, pose as a hijabi. Not pushing your chest out or your bum and the attitude on the face UGH

:)

I like 3 a lot. 4 if I was going earth motherish. and 5 if I added chains on the belt for more of a punk/skater look.

thanks for a wonderful blog. i wanted to say that I've seen quite of few similar blogs spring up recently but your ideas are by far more interesting and original. I love this particular look in these pics ..would like to try it out but was wondering do you know how to the hijab style like the model in the pics. if so, please could you share. would appreciate it as i am finding it real difficult to find a hijab style that suits my face and works for my lifestyle...so far i feel that most styles just simply don't do justice to my natural look without the hijab..following your other post on how to work out what suits my face i think i have a round-ish face but the turkish style isn't always appropriate for me.....best wishes& good luck going forward with the blog

awww... i love them, actually. ok, i don't love the purple one that much, but the rest - it's simply awesome. maybe i'd tie the scarf a little less complicated, but i love that they look so... western. ya know, i love to see different cultures and stuff, and i'm always sad when i see converts who think that with becoming muslim they have to become arabs. sometimes i wonder, if there would be a longer muslim history in europe (don't really think about america, since i'm living in the old world), how would scandinavian hijabstyle traditionally look?

and maybe i'm writing nonsense here, but the first one... it's so central europe 20s style with a little steampunk. God, I love steampunk. the second one seems to be more modern, but still the colors are discreet but thanks to the yellow not boring.
I'm not a great fan of the purple one, because it doesn't seem so special to me, since many turkish hijabis have a similar style... but i like those sleeves, i really do.
#4 is just so awesome, i can't find any words to describe how i feel about it except "WANT"
and five... oh, it's so steampunk. i hope she also wears fitting boos over those amazing trousers. and they should add goggles. oh, i love steampunk. i wish there was a fanbase here in boring austria.

if that's what they have at primark, i demand one here in austria.
