Request: Graduation Look

Minha Aliya requested that I suggest a graduation outfit for her upcoming (middle school?) graduation. I think that she said she is 14 years old and the only girl who wears hijab in her year.

As you mentioned that the other girls generally wear pencil skirts, I would suggest that you follow a similar theme. Here is an outfit for some inspiration, hope you like it! I have tried to keep it young and fun but I might not be the best person to ask as I did not wear hijab until quite a few years after secondary school so do not have experience dressing in hijab for prom/graduation.
Graduation

I hope that this helps! I would have liked to suggest other looks for you but I am so behind on work at the moment, I really don't have the time. Let me know how it goes!

Ya know, that is pretty for someone older. Like, I would wear that to a formal day out (Might give heels a miss though) but for a 14 yr old...I really dont think so. Seeing as how they all are thinking along the lines of a pencil skirt, it means they are not taking the graduation as an all out formal even versus a casual-formal day. Soooooo she should wear bright colors!!! Like I would wear a maxi dress with one of those fancy shmancy amazing cardigans with open toed sandals, low heels (Not that high wouldnt work, its just we have to look at the event), or flats. Would not give lace a miss here. Try to work in lace as much as you can!!! Hmmm, the hijab...I would suggest Amenakin cuz she is AWESOME!!! Or a toned down hijab. (I would go for Amenakin) I betcha she will look the best there.
BTW, Zainab, the outfit idea is amazing! I am going to go make an outfit steal right now from my wardrobe!
@ C: I adore shiny things and loooong formal dresses + my fave color is pink! I think we get along very well :))

Fatima: I agree. I know the look is a little old but I figured if the others are going for pencil skirts she should too in case she doesn't want to look different. I admit though, that my original thought was a maxi dress as well.

In the UK they don't have a graduation in the middle of secondary school so I really haven't a clue what they would wear for one!

It's so hard to figure out what is appropriate for middle school graduation. I think this outfit is super chic.

wow you must be rich, Someone once asked Hadhrat Ibraheem bin Adham (Allaah have mercy upon him) for advice. Come and have a look at "Six Habits"

ireminisces: I said that the outfit is just for inspiration. Also, I really like that hadith but were you trying to relate it to this post in some way?

Ummm Polyvore barely has anything that isnt expensive. Like majorly, big fa, EXPENSIVE! And if you think Zainab commits Israaf you should read her past posts. They are things like "I wouldnt buy a hijab for more then 10, its overpriced." Which I think is very smart of her. Or instead of buying a real over priced bag, she gets a look alike which has more use and pockets for a lesser (is that a word...?) price. Polyvore users use Polyvore for inspiration. Just saying. ;) No offense meant, sis.
