. . . the thoughts of a fashion-loving british arab.
Just wondering how this is supposed to be 'good hijab' when the jeans are tight and forearms are uncovered? What makes it different to any other non-Muslim on the street, apart from the headscarf? Sorry for sounding cynical but I'm bored of seeing so many 'hijab' photos which don't even fulfil the basics of hijab.
ooh, bright colors!
who is nabila???-AA
it's meant to be inspiration ---- the problems stated can easily be altered! arms uncovered? don't push the sleeves up as she did. jeans too tight? wear loose jeans instead.Don't be overly critical to problems that are easily solved.
Mun, I know they can be easily solved, I'm not stupid. But as I already said, what's the point of calling it 'hijab' when it's clearly not? I can get any picture of someone on the street wearing a dress and call it 'hijab' with 'problems' that can be 'solved'. Where are all the stylish muslimahs that are PROPERLY covered?
Mariam, first, if this is her definition of hijab then thats up to her and its between her and Allah (SWT)second, i use her outfits for inspiration and if you look at my version i have solved the issues that you mentioned.and third, i know you dont mean to sound cynical but she lives in a western country and it might be hard for her to completly cover just yet - everyone is learning.
the mrs: she is a girl i found on flikr who posts her hijabi outfits so i decided to start a 'nabilas pick of the week' but its hard to keep up so its more like her pick of the month lol :D
I like this outfit very much!! I love the bright colors with the dark jeans. As for the sleeve length and the jeans, all I can say is whoopdedoo, BIG DEAL. She looks pretty young; very possibly a new hijabi. I am a new hijabi too (I've been wearing it for all of 1 month) and I don't think the jeans are immodest. The top/dress is very long, and it covers the "sexual/womanly" parts of her legs (i.e. thighs, hips, rear end). You can kinda see the shape of her shins, but they're her shins, who gives a crap??! Same with the forearms--for cryin out loud they're forearms!! Also, you don't have to push up the sleeves if it's THAT BIG of a deal. Seriously, no one likes haram police going after their sisters in God with haram police batons and tryna stick them in haram jail. Please stop.
