May Allah (swt) grant the Palestinians patience and victory, returning their land and wiping their oppressors off the face of the planet. Ameen.

Ameen. And I hope that when you say "their opressors", that you mean the Israelis directly involved in all this mess, and not ALL Israelis.

Ameen!

Salaam: I mean anyone oppressing or allowing or agreeing with the oppression of the Palestinians and those preventing aid from reaching Gaza. That covers the majority of Israel, let's face it.

My heart hurts for all the innocent people getting hurt... War is terrible.

Israel agrees to ceasefire as of today, but will not lift blockade. Some people never learn, I guess. May Allah(swt) grant the Palestinians a speedy recovery Ameen.

Salaam.

Ameen :'( Yes, one of the Norwegian newspapers wrote that 9 out of 10 (I think it was) Israelis supports the recent attacks.

Imaanii: Yes I heard about that, it made me sick!

With due respect to your amazing blog, that attitude ("Wipe those bastards off the face of this earth") is precisely the attitude among some Israelis that has led to the cruel oppression of Palestinians in the first place. And it does a giant disservice to certain Israelis like Amira Hass, Neturei Karta and others who are advocating for Israel to stop mistreatment of Palestinians. Why should they even bother if their very race condemns them to hate? I'm not Muslim but have always argued against xenophobic Muslim-haters, saying that it IS a religion of peace for 99.9% of practitioners aside from a few extremists who exist in every faith. So it is a downer to see the old "wipe Jews off planet" here, too.

Excuse me but where have I said 'wipe Jews off the face of the planet'?

Sorry. Clearly I jumped to a conclusion. Guess it's just that there is an abundance of content online condemning entire nationalities/communities, and I figured oppressors was shorthand for a country and everyone in it. My apologies.

That's OK Yukirat :) I have to admit you've always been one of my favourite commenters, so I was a little surprised. Also, I didn't realise you're not Muslim! What are you, out of interest?

Salam x

Palestine officially recognized as "non-member observer state" by the UN, despite the US, Canada, and Israel voting "No" to this status.

I found it pathetic how the UK refused to vote on that.

Buddhist by upbringing, but Islamic art (broad, I know) is the most beautiful in the world imho, as is a lot of Islam-inspired music - just sublime. And I admire hijab fashion because it's about real *fashion* and taste and style, not about what makes a body slimmer or taller, or what makes one's butt/breasts look better. And the outfits on this blog are always chic.

God I love that bit Yukirat just said about hijabi fashion being true fashion because of that reason. I've never thought about it that way before! Subhanallah
