Yemeni Hijab Style

The next country I've explored the hijab style of is Yemen. Bordering both Saudi and Oman, I guessed the style would be a cross between the two countries and it kind of is:

Brightly coloured hijab, so pretty :D

Like in Saudi, a lot of women in Yemen wear the niqab, I think this version is nicer than black though:
Yemenis seem to have a hat fetish:

I love this next one, the hijab and hat combo is so graceful, especially with that bright pink scarf:

I love this pic :] I don't really know why tbh, I think it's the jeans

Cute hijabs, I love the purple one but I think I would set my chin free a bit more if I was wearing it lol:

Yemeni soldiers training to counter terrorists, you go girlies!

Check out their hijabified army outfits, so much nicer than the butch ones they make in other countries lol:

Jewish Yemenis, in some colourful outfits and half hijabified, loving the beads:

I'm so in love with this black Yemeni hena, have to get it done!

More around the world hijab style coming soon, Isha'Allah!

Closed Toe Sandals (i.e. slingbacks)

I thought these would a good summer idea for hijabies that cover their feet. Although I think it's OK to wear sandals normally, these shoes would look far better than the socks and sandals look, ick.

So if you don't like open toe sandals go for flat slingbacks in the summer instead and even if you must wear socks or tights with them, it'll still look better than this:

Outfit Ideas

I love this outfit, but I would give that waist cincher a miss and replace it with a oversized, black handbag :D

The Perfect Combination For A Formal Look

If you're stuck on what to wear for a formal event dig out that long black skirt from your wardrobe (every hijabis staple piece) and couple it with the following for a chic and classy look: a glittery/metallic cardigan, a clutch, some killer heels (for all women's events, if not stick to smaller heels with a rubber tip or a pair of statement flats) and a glossy Turkish hijab for a smart finish. Your outfit should end up looking similar to this:

This style works great with a jewel coloured satin blouse too:

If your not a separates girl, this look works with a metallic jilbab and the rest of the style formula just as well:

If you don't have anywhere to wear this look then book a meal especially lol :D

"Blue And Green Should Never Be Seen..."

..I hate silly colour rules like that and the 'brown and blue' rule. I happen to think brown and blue can look wonderful together, like here:
Here my version:

Nude Top

Nude Top - by Zaenab

I looked for a nice brown batwing top but I couldn't find one, oh well nude is big this spring :D Another thing that's on trend is mixing and matching bright and beautiful colours so forget boring same-shade outfits and add a splash of colour! If you're not so keen on standing out of the crowd with bold brights, carefully chosen colour pop accessories will do the job just as well :]

Hijab Wedding Dress Sale

The best modest wedding dress shop on the net (in my humble opinion) is having a sale until the end of March and the prices are incredibly low! If you're getting married and want a modern style wedding dress that is also hijab appropriate I would highly recommend you visit this site and insha'Allah you'll find the perfect dress :D Here are some of my favorites:

I love this one, it has a Moroccan feel to it and isn't too over the top and what's more, it's yours for 612 euros, bargain! (was 765 euros):

This one comes with a cute and convenient jacket for those who don't want a long sleeved dress. It used to be 865 euros but is now just 692 :D

This next one is sooooo pretty! It's has some really elegant detailing and at 592 euros from 740, it's not a bad deal either!

This one is probably my favorite, I love all! It's 667 euros from 833:

There are lots more great Muslim wedding dresses to find at www.buyweddingdress.net for new low prices so go and check it out. Take a look at the gowns while you're at it - a few of them could be hijabified.

Hijab Fashion For 40 Plus Women

(^OK, I know she's not 40 lol..^)
My mum's always asking me how her outfit looks on her and if its too young or too old etc etc She generally wears long skirts and blouses/knitwear with a Turkish style hijab and I think she dresses well for her age :D I was chatting to her about fashion today and decided to do a post on hijab fashion for women over 40. As always, the hijab don'ts come first:

Sickly cute pink:
Please don't go for the sweet little girly look at forty, it's just wrong for anyone over 10 actually.

80's Acid wash denim

It's like they say, if your wore the trend the first time, don't wear it the second time it comes into fashion - stick to dark denim whether it's a skirt or jeans.

Bold, bright prints

Subtle tones are far more flattering as you get older.

What to wear:

Tailored jackets work really well with a long flowing skirt by balancing the bottom half out while keeping it feminine . What's more, jackets are right on trend:
Instead of the immature pink up top, this is a much more grown up and classy look with a great jacket making it perfect for formal occasions:

If you like wearing prints there's nothing to stop you, just wear one statement piece and make sure the rest of your outfit is simple. I love this!

Here, the statement piece is her hijab, I love it! Speaking of this look, make sure you invest in a fabulous coat that suits you and your style. If you get it right, it will bring any outfit right up to date. I would recommend a trench coat like the one in the photo - they are timeless classics that will last you for years and come in practically every colour and length you can dream of!

Long skirts
I know a lot of women over 40 wear jeans, which is fine but I'm basing this on my mums wardrobe which contains about a million different long skirts lol.

Here are two skirt outfits I made that I think would be perfect outfits for 40+ hijabies:

Summer Skirt

Cardigans

These are a hijabies best friend whatever her age is and whoever said cardigans are only for granny's is a prune, because they have been on trend for years and will always have a place in fashion. M&S has a range of good quality cardigans that are great for hijabies, here are some of my picks:

Outfit Ideas - Hajj and Umrah

It's important to get your hajj/umrah outfit right otherwise you might get too hot or uncomfortable and sorting out your hijab that's slipping from your head or wishing you had worn socks when you realise how many people are walking around bare foot are the last things you want to be thinking about. For me, this sort of outfit was the most comfortable for Umrah (I've not yet done hajj so I don't know what would be the easiest but I'm assuming a few outfits like this would suffice)

Where to get them:
Abaya - Shukr
Linen Trousers - Oli
Top - Dorothy Perkins
Hijab - Hijab Store Online
Flats - Topshop (you can get them for about 3 pounds from Primark though!)

Celebrity Style Steal.. Queen Rania of Jordan

According to the times magazine, Queen Rania is one of the 100 most influential people in the world and she also has a great wardrobe, perfect combo if you ask me! She doesn't wear the hijab but she dresses fairly modestly and most of what she wears is 'hijabifiable'. Here are some photos I like:

This green dress is so adorable, I've always said sleeved dresses are more glamorous than sleeveless ones..

I really like this outfit, all you would need to hijabify is to loose the belt and your good to go, it's also a look perfect for smart or casual depending on accessories:

Queen Rania with a bunch of hijabies, I could not possibly comment on all their outfits:

In a loooovely Palestinian galabya, where she is originally from:

What I love about her style is that it's smart but looks so effortless at the same time, like here:

I've tried to create an effortless-chique look here that's smart-casual:

Hope you like her glamorous style too! More celebrity style steals coming soon, Insha'Allah.
