Next, the two best hijab wedding dresses I came across in 2009. I love the white one!!! For the full post and for the link to the shop you can buy them, click here.
Favorite runway looks. For me, the Iranian runway is one of the best, I loooove the last dress and simple hijab style on the first pic although I would pair with straight leg jeans instead..
This has to be my fave catwalk photo:
The one that actually pulled off the hijab and hat look...And the one that didn't..
For more hijab and hat looks check out the related 'love it or shove it post' here.
My favorite smart looks from '09:
Smart/Formal:
Smart/Causal:
And my worst ever supposedly smart looks, sometimes I wonder who on God's earth actually sat down and designed such monstrosities?
I may well have seen this woman in a nightmare..
OK, this one makes me laugh, I can't actually take the outfit seriously because I'm reminded so strongly of a butterfly that someone has swatted.
Other faves: The perfect abaya..For more on accessorizing your hijab, check out this post.
And finally, the worst hijab style? The old bandage look of course.
Hope you liked :D

Rabia Z's - that dress rocks. Its simple yet so elegant. I soo love that dress. Any idea how much it costs?
The black abaya - this is again elegant. Any idea who its designed by?

haha... this was enjoyable, both informative and funny. Like it!
I am a Westerner, so I am only familiar with the hijab and the burqa and so on from pictures I have seen and some of the Muslim ladies who live here in the Los Angeles area. I am not as well acquainted with the custom as I should be, but my opinion that if it is something that a woman wishes to do then she should be allowed to do it without any kind of stigma attached to it.
There were some very lovely hijabs (referring to the scarf... as I understand it, hijab can refer to total or partial body and/or facial covering?) in your post, and some not quite so lovely. The post also helped me understand the Muslim culture a bit better, as well. So, ladies, if it feels right to you, then do what you have to do. It's your right to believe whatever you want to believe and do what your faith instructs you to do. Strength and peace to all of you!
